When using the master mark, adhere to the following rules:
- Components are never to be used separately.
- The VCU horizontal master mark is the preferred application.
- The seal must accompany the VCU logotype and may NOT be used as an independent element unless on diplomas, regalia or official business (on legal documents such as contracts, notary acknowledgements, etc.) from the President’s Office or Board of Visitors.
- Master marks are available for download from the Downloads section.
This is the horizontal mark (preferred):
This is the stacked mark and should only be used in extreme vertical spaces:
Never use the seal alone unless for official business from the President's Office/Board of Visitors, diplomas or regalia.
Master mark lockup
- The lockup is the area containing the master mark, and it may not be altered or manipulated.
- The clear zone around the master mark is equivalent to the size of the V in the logotype.
- The master mark should be at least 0.5” high as long as the seal is still legible.
