Still imagery traits
Attitude
Real and engaged. Genuine and committed. Optimistic and confident. We capture people with a purpose who radiate determination and curiosity.
Perspective
We capture moments in time that reveal personality, passion and emotion. Everything from a penetrating gaze into camera to a poignant stare can be used to reinforce the message being communicated.
Light and contrast
Lighting is an important tool that should enhance the story we are telling. Both natural and artificial light may be used to complement the visual and create distinction and uniqueness. Enhanced light should not compromise the authenticity of the image or detract from the message.
Composition
Composition should guide the viewer through the photograph. Subjects should be placed with purpose, and surrounding elements are grounded in reality so as not to distract from the story. Authenticity should guide the art direction while staging should support an engaging narrative.
Post processing
Like lighting, post processing can be an effective tool used to enhance the story an image is telling. While there are infinite options with post processing, imagery should remain authentic and natural. Excessive filters and color adjustments should also be avoided.
