Promotional items
Promotional items should reflect the style and qualities of our brand. They are an excellent way of conveying the VCU Health brand in a personal and memorable way. Gifts and giveaways should promote health, recovery and life.
When choosing promotional items and giveaways, you should always select items appropriate for the event or recipient and those with some longevity.
Find items of high quality and style, avoiding anything gimmicky. Wearables should be similarly simple in design, without unnecessary detailing or decoration. When applying the VCU Health logo, be sensitive to the item's size, material, and nature.
When thinking of suitable items, keep in mind:
Appropriateness
Always consider the event and choose gifts appropriate to the context or the individual recipient.
The right style of gift
Does the gift's design represent the premium quality associated with the VCU Health brand? Apply the VCU Health logo sensitively, according to the item's size, material, and nature, and balance the need to present the logo accurately for any future use of the gift.
Applying the VCU Health logo
Does the gift allow for the application of our logo in line with our guidelines? Consider the color of any gift you choose—select items with a white, black or gold background or a silver or chrome finish. Always ensure the logo is accurately reproduced and that printing, embroidery or application methods use quality materials and finishes.
Finding a Licensed Vendor
Because our brand is important to us, all promotional items must go through a licensed IMG College Licensing (IMGCL) vendor. IMGCL represents VCU and VCU Health and assists in managing our licensing and trademark enforcement program. See this list of approved vendors to choose a vendor that works best for your needs.
Misuses
- Don’t distort or alter the logo
- Don’t apply the logo to busy backgrounds or materials that will distort our brand
- Don’t reproduce the VCU Health logo in all gold for one color. One-color imprints must be either all black or white.
